Access has been recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing companies in The Sunday Times Buyout Track 2012. The annual list showcases private-equity-backed companies with the fastest-growing profits (ebitda) over the last two years. Access was ranked at number 47 after profits grew 43% per year since 2009.

This award celebrates deal-making excellence, with previous winners including Lloyds TSB and Towergate. The £50 million management buyout saw the existing management team up with Lyceum Capital to buy the company from its founder. The judges praised the achievements of the Access board and the ambitious growth plan. “We…did what we believed to be the right deal to take the company forward,” said Commercial Director Chris Tossell. “We never expected to be named alongside…Wagamama and win Buyout of the Year.”
